Manager Technical Projects at Rapra Technology and for 25 years responsible for all aspects, both commercial and technical, of Rapra’s material and product evaluation services. These are Test House, Research & Consultancy Services covering the whole range of physical testing, including reference materials, calibration and standardisation.

An internationally acknowledged expert on physical testing and quality assurance of polymers and has published more than 60 technical papers. Author of the Standard Text Books "Physical Testing of Rubber", "Handbook of Plastics Test Methods" and "Handbook of Polymer Test Methods and editor of the International Journal "Polymer Testing".

Active member of many British Standards committees and leader of the United Kingdom delegation to the International Standards Organisation Technical Committee ISO TC45, Rubber and Rubber Products and to CEN/TC249, Plastics. Leader of delegation to TC 45 SC2, Testing and chairman of SC2 WG1, Physical tests. Chairman of British Standards committee PRI 20, Accuracy of test machines, PRI/-/1 Coordination for international work in rubber and PRI 21, Testing of plastics.

Project leader/principal consultant for major development projects on test equipment and test methods, quality systems, material properties and standards for government and industrial clients. Has undertaken numerous investigations of performance and failure of a very wide range of rubber and plastics products. Experienced in preparation of expert reports and giving evidence in court.
